Questions Every Seller Should Ask Their Real Estate Agent

Questions To Ask Any Realtor Listing Your Property.

Is the Realtor a full-time professional or a part-time agent?
I have been selling real estate on the Upper Cape and Wareham full-time since January 1999. My hours are Monday through Friday from 9-5 and evenings and weekends by appointment.

Does the Realtor derive a significant portion of their income from listing and selling Real Estate?
100
% of my familys household income is derived from my commissions as a RE/MAX agent.

How many homes has the Realtor sold in the last 12 months?
I've closed 95 transaction sides since 2002, the majority of which were my own listings. This level of sales earned me the RE/MAX International 100% Award as well as a Top 5% ranking among Cape & Islands Realtors.

Does the Realtor have an interactive website?
I have personally invested in a website (CapeSandCastles.com) where buyers and sellers can access valuable information about real estate and the sales process. Buyers can view my listings or search for property listed in multiple listing services. I actively promote my site and regularly record almost 3000 "hits" per month.

How often does the Realtor communicate with clients (sellers)?
Ill ask a seller how often theyd like to hear from me and whether theyd prefer phone calls or email updates. I like to appraise sellers of changing market conditions, competing properties and significant feedback from showings.

Can the Realtor provide references from satisfied clients?
The greatest compliment I can receive from clients and customers is their referral of friends and associates.

Does the Realtor have a marketing plan?
Every property is unique and I look for opportunities to present properties creatively. As a RE/MAX agent I have complete control of every aspect of marketing.

How many listings does the Realtor have?
On average I personally average 4 - 7 listings and have had as many as 12 listings at one time (Click here to view my listings). RE/MAX agents belong to an international network of over 70,000 agents in 36 countries and sell
more real estate than any other real estate company in the world.

Does the Realtor have an assistant?
I work with a full-time Licenced Assistant, Bernice Standish, so I can concentrate on listing and selling the homes of my clients.

Will the Realtor have an "investment" in your listing?
Every RE/MAX agent makes a personal financial commitment in the homes they list because RE/MAX agents pay for and are in control of their own marketing. A listing is an expense until it is sold, so a RE/MAX agent will not inflate the value of your property to "buy" the listing only to recommend a significant price reduction later. My market analysis of your property will be fair and realistic.
